Have you ever thought about where you’d like to live in when you’ve decided to retire from a successful career in medicine? Perhaps you’ve gone on a cruise like
Healthy MD CME’s and thought that “Hey, this country looks like a great spot after retiring.”
France got what it takes to be a retirement haven. It’s hard not to fall in love with the country’s rich culture, delicious cuisine, and fantastic climate. Oh, and don’t forget their healthcare.

Provence, France |
Only have your eyes set on Paris? But there’s far more to France than just its capital city! For many expats, one of the best places to retire can be found south, in sunny old Provence.
What’s There To Enjoy In Provence?
Comfortable Climate
Provence is well known for its generally sunny climate which is perfect if you want to do outdoor adventures any time of the year. The clear blue skies offer stunning views that have made artists like Van Gogh and Picasso flock to the area to paint.
Relaxed Lifestyle
One of the biggest draws of retiring in Provence is the way of life in this region. People like to take their time here and enjoy the beauty and attractions that the area has to offer, from historic towns and Roman ruins to mountain trails and warm beaches. But there’s never a dull moment in Provence either -- you’ll find music, art, and food and wine festivals wherever you go. Another plus is that Provence is quite close to Italy’s border, making it easier to travel to.
The Food
Provence is the home of world-famous dishes like bouillabaisse and ratatouille. Provencal recipes are much more Meditteranean-inspired -- closer to Italian cuisine than it is to Parisian fare. You’ll enjoy plenty of vegetables, seafood, herbs, cheeses, and olive oil here, plus the farmers’ markets are a joy to visit.
